[Springfield, MO – September 11, 2020] – Abacus CPAs, LLC is proud to announce that Cristian Rath has been awarded the distinction of Up & Comer as part of Springfield Business Journal’s 2020 Trusted Advisers. The award ceremony is held later today, September 11, 2020 via webcast.
Rath has learned through the years that “People Deserve Better,” also one of Abacus’s focuses, which reinforced he was at the right firm to propel his growth and development. Abacus CPAs trusts and empowers employees, at every level, with the ability to take charge of their career by encouraging innovation and leadership from everyone.
“As an aspiring leader, I am genuinely grateful for opportunities to lead within the firm.” said Rath, “As a tax consultant and a CPA, I get to speak with clients and lead others in my daily interactions. I help clients grow and avoid obstacles as they navigate tax code and financial curveballs.”
Rath understands overcoming obstacles. He was born into a family of extreme poverty and, at 10-years-old, decided he would break the cycle by changing his future. These goals included graduating from high school, attending college and securing a full-time job.
“When I heard Bill Dunton, our managing partner say, “So, when can you start?” I knew my dream had become a reality and the struggles from my past were a distant memory.” said Rath.
Today, Rath serves as a communication leader in the firm, by energizing and inspiring people. He regularly compliments and reinvigorates others – clients and coworkers, realizing that others depend on him. He often makes choices and tackles projects – because he wants to make this job, this company and the world better for everyone.
“I know a Trusted Adviser is someone who overcomes their circumstances and reaches their goals to focus on the client – helping them overcome their circumstances and achieve their goals.” said Rath, “Because of Abacus, I will relentlessly pursue what is best for my clients, so they can make smarter decisions.”
Rath also is a committed family-man and community volunteer. He and his wife, Braidi, have been married since 2015 and have two small boys, Theodor and Thalen, with one more on the way. Cristian is also involved as a community volunteer serving on the board for Champion Athletes of the Ozarks, the treasurer of Rotaract of Springfield, and the treasurer of My Final Chapter.
