Springfield, MO – June 6, 2022 – Abacus CPAs, LLC is pleased to announce Hannah Husgen as the award recipient for the 2022 Abacus Values Award of People Focus. Hannah began at Abacus as an intern in the Transportation Department in January 2020 and is now a senior analyst in the Traditional Tax, Audit & Accounting Department.

Husgen transitioned into a full-time role following the completion of her master’s degree. Husgen graduated with her Master’s of Business Administration from Missouri State University in 2020 and achieved her CPA license in March 2022. She is known around the office for helping new employees understand projects and instructions more clearly by intentionally taking time to answer questions.

“I think the way you treat people is better than any technical sill you can really have,” Husgen said. “I saw the opportunity with new staff that were struggling and not getting trained how they wanted to be, so I just tried to answer their questions and give them some insight of what I have learned since I started working here.”

The Abacus Value Award of People Focus recognizes an employee who displays effective communication, respect, compassion and cooperation. Husgen was selected because of her willingness to help others.

“I’m honored. We’re very much a people-focused firm. That’s what drew me to Abacus,” she said. “When I received the award, it was humbling because I know how many people are here because of that people-focus.”

The Abacus Values Awards were created in 2020 to recognize individuals who fully exemplify Abacus Values in how they live, work and build relationships with clients and coworkers. Each recipient demonstrated exceptional understanding and achievement in client support and professional relationships.
