Abacus CPAs, LLC, Names John Helms III as Partner

(Springfield, MO) On January 1st, 2020, Abacus CPAs, LLC, announced the promotion of John Helms III CPA, CFE, CBP to the position of partner within the firm. Over the past 20 years, Abacus has been one of the fastest-growing accounting firms in Southwest Missouri. With a staff of more than 90 employees and services ranging from accounting to consulting, the firm is paving the way as industry leaders.

John Helms has been at Abacus for 12 combined years and has been a key factor in firm decisions, management decisions, and strategic planning. He specializes in Fraud, Tax, and Accounting Services. John is a jack of all trades when it comes to the world of accounting. He is excellent in situations that require the strategic organization of information. He is a leader in innovation and technology throughout the firm. John strives to build genuine relationships with his clients by providing better guidance so that they can make smarter decisions in their business endeavors. John Helms graduated in 2008 from Missouri State University, where he received a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in accounting. He received his CPA (Certified Public Accountant) license in 2010 and his CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner) in 2012 and his CPB (Certified Bitcoin Professional) in 2018. John was recognized as an honoree for the 2019 SBJ Trusted Advisers award and was also awarded the Department of Defense award for Outstanding Support of Military Personnel in 2014. Over the years, John has served on the Board of Directors for organizations such as the Diaper Bank and as an adviser to Vaccine Ambassadors. He also served as Chairperson of the Board for the Southwest Chapter of the Missouri Society of CPAs from 2016 to 2019. John is also a committee member for Bowling for Strikes, a fundraiser for Champion Athletes of the Ozarks and Treasurer for Creek Bridge Neighborhood HOA.
