Under guided supervision, the Accounting Intern position will learn and is accountable for accounting and functions of smaller engagements; with moderate client contact, a learning environment, and real-world accounting and payroll experience in this entry-level professional position.

Essential Functions

Interns work under the guidance of seasoned Accounting professionals and supervisors who reviews all work. Interns will obtain the knowledge and skills to successfully manage and fulfill the accounting services tasks, payroll support and financials. They may also need to professionally communicate with clients the expectations and items required to complete their accounting services or payroll engagement.

Requirements

Candidates must be a student currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and it’s recommended they have completed a tax or accounting class. An internship with Abacus CPAs provides you with hands on experience in public accounting and offers tools and knowledge needed to succeed as a future accountant.

Professional appearance, dedication to teamwork and leadership and the ability to effectively identify issues and confidently offer solutions are also a must. Successful interns will have strong communication, analytical, organizational and PC skills including software proficiency and the ability to professionally interact with clients and all levels of staff. Ability to work at desk on a computer for several hours is required.
