Under guided supervision, the Tax Season Intern position will learn and is accountable for tax functions of smaller engagements; with increased client contact, a learning environment, and real-world tax experience in this entry-level professional position.

Essential Functions

Interns will obtain the knowledge and skills to successfully manage and fulfill the tax preparation, estimate, and extension requirements of 1040 returns. They will also professionally communicate with clients the expectations and items required to complete their tax engagement.

Requirements

Candidates must be able to work a minimum of 20 hours a week. Scheduling of those hours is flexible to fit around spring semester classes. This paid internship will begin 1/3/2023 and end 4/28/2023.

Candidates must be a student currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and  it’s recommended they have completed their tax class. A tax season internship with Abacus CPAs provides you with hands on experience in public accounting and offers tools and knowledge needed to succeed as a future accountant. Interns work under the guidance of a tax senior who reviews all work.

Professional appearance, dedication to teamwork and leadership and the ability to effectively identify issues and confidently offer solutions are also a must. Successful interns will have strong communication, analytical, organizational and PC skills including software proficiency and the ability to professionally interact with clients and all levels of staff. Ability to work at desk on a computer for several hours is required.
