[Springfield, MO – December 3, 2021] – Abacus CPAs, LLC is proud to announce that Shuhan Gu has been promoted to Advisor. Gu, who joined the firm in February 2017, continues to evolve as a growth-minded leader and respected resource in tax planning, tax consulting services, and tax return review. Shuhan, who serves as the Branson Office Supervisor, also serves as a member of the firm’s management and administration team.
Shuhan Gu, who is a graduate of MSU with her Masters of Accounting, has a passion for corporate tax. She continues to stretch her management and leadership capacity by effectively mentoring employees, ensuring excellent client interactions, and encouraging essential conversations to best support Abacus clients. Shuhan was recognized in May 2020 for her work with the Abacus Value Award for Integrity, one of the highest honors the firm bestows.
Since beginning at Abacus, Shuhan’s role has continued to grow and evolve, from tax preparer to tax reviewer, then to Branson Office Supervisor and now, Advisor. Shuhan is making a larger impact on the firm with higher-level involvement and firm leadership, sharing her consultant-perspective with the Tax Department by leading Lean Six Sigma projects to benefit the firm, facilitating group training, taking the lead on Strategic Planning projects, and presenting at Professional Conferences, most recently the IMA conference.
Shuhan has always been focused on the Abacus ALIGN process and quality client communication. Her responsibilities include overseeing staff work including monitoring project completion and quality, assigning work to team members. Shuhan regularly supports employee development, including Balanced Scorecards, 90 Day Game Plan meetings and helping others provide the Abacus Experience to clients. She also helps balance and facilitate effective use of the firm workload, coordinating with other departments, overseeing staff capacity and maintaining a higher-level view to best support the client experience.
